I am an Electronic Engineer. My name is Tom Carlson, and I've probably designed a product that you have owned or seen in stores. I may have also designed the control system used in the factory that makes the medicine you take or the microchips in your computer, and perhaps the forklift you drive! I'm a registered professional engineer and have been involved in product design and circuit design for over 19 years.

I am the owner of the engineering contracting company, Contour Integration in Portland, Oregon. At Contour Integration, we design control systems, write firmware and software, and design electronic circuits for companies whose engineering staffs are too overworked or who may currently lack expertise in a certain technology area. Most of the design work we do at Contour Integration occurs here in Portland, Oregon. Some of it is done in Serbia, Argentina, and Taiwan, by other engineers who are friends and associates of mine.
